Triana Library

On Saturday, September 18, 2010, a group of Torch employees, and spouses, volunteered at the 2010 Lowe’s Heroes project behind the Town Hall in Triana.  The Triana Public Library was destroyed by a fire Sept 20, 2009 and  all of the library’s books and computers were a total loss.  The community depended on the library for learning, career development, and computer access. Each year the Lowe’s Heroes volunteer program helps to improve the communities where Lowe’s employees work and live.  The Triana Public Library project was chosen for the Lowe’s Heroes Project by all four local stores at Hampton Cove, Madison and north and south Huntsville.  Torch employees joined the north Huntsville store early in the day to help fix up the reading nook area by spreading mulch and planting shrubs.  When the morning project was complete, the team moved inside to the makeshift library and helped sort the donated library items and assembled shelving units.
