Winter 2010 Additional Grants

Torch Helps received an anonymous donation earlier this year.  This donation along with your generosity will enable Torch Helps to provide funds to a number of non-profit organizations this holiday season.

During our most recent board meeting, the following charities were nominated to receive a $1,000 grant.  If approved, the funds will be distributed to each charity by mid-November. The list of Charities and how they plan to use the grants is provided below.


Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (Decatur Campus)

The funds would supplement their Christmas gifts and activities for abandoned, abused, and neglected children in North Alabama.

Kids to Love

The funds would support their Christmas for the Kids drive which provides Christmas gifts to foster children in North Alabama and South Central Tennessee.

Harris Home for Children

The funds would be used to provide gifts for the children at Harris Home.

Downtown Rescue Mission

The funds would be used to help feed the homeless in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

Salvation Army

The funds would support their Angel Tree program which provides toys, clothes, and food to needy families and children throughout Madison County.

Christmas Charities Year Round

The funds would be used for Operation Believe which provides toys, a Christmas stocking and a food box to local children and their families for Christmas. It also provides seniors and the disabled a gift and a food box, to remind them they are loved and not forgotten.

Rainbow Omega

The funds would be used to purchase a couch or living room furniture  for a group home that serves adults with developmental disabilities.

Manna House

The funds would be used to provide food to local families in need in Madison County.
